Patty George Pressed Glass Celery Vases Celery Vases were originally made to hold celery with cold water from the well to keep it fresh and crisp. Today we use celery vases for flower vases, to hold steak knives, and to serve green onions or bread sticks. The height of these vases varies depending on if the celery vase is flat or footed, usually between 8 to 15 inches tall.
